Volunteers to Help with Child Outings: Seeking
individuals to assist staff with child activities that would take place
outside the shelter. Activities may include: accompaniment to events
and fun activities. Summer Gateway Program Volunteers: Our summer program is just around the corner. Our program will start in June and will run weekly. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the program. We are also looking for gift cards from local businesses to purchase needed supplies and snacks for the children. If you can assist us by donating your time or a gift card please call Dan.
Volunteers to Help with 5k Walk/Run: Assist with coordination and facilitation of our first annual 5k Walk/Run being held this upcoming October. More information will be provided upon interest.
Volunteer Maintenance for the shelter is still greatly needed! This is a great opportunity for guy volunteers, so even if you would not be interested but you know any guys or gals for that matter, that would be, please have them give us a call!
Cleaning: We always can use volunteers for cleaning projects. We need your help to maintain our shelter and keep the shelter clean and healthy for the women and children. Call Dan if you can donate even an hour of your time.
Painting: We still need volunteers who would be interested in painting rooms at the shelter. If you happen to be experienced in painting and are looking for volunteer opportunities we greatly need your help.

love the adrenaline rush of friendly competition and think you have what
it takes to be a winner? We have the perfect event for you! Join us for
a chance to win awesome prizes like free food and local entertainment
while challenging your friends in a 5K Race. Put your running shoes on,
come RAIN OR SHINE…we’...ll see you at the finish line! INTERNS...Now accepting applications for Fall 2011 If you are currently or have been an intern with The Women's Center, Inc., We need YOU! Interns are needed to help recruit new interns for TWC. Being an intern (or past intern) can give potential interns someone to interface with about internship opportunities, internship experiences, and much more! Past and present interns are needed to distribute internship recruitment fliers/brochures, present informational trainings to university staff and students, and staff tables at university intern fairs. Internships at The Women's Center, Inc. Advance your education while touching the lives of others!
The Women's Center, Inc. of Columbia/Montour accepts interns from a variety of disciplines. These include, but are not limited to, social work, criminal justice, communications, political science, business and marketing.
Internships are a critical stepping stone when students transition from college or university into the workplace. Accredited internship programs provide students with valuable experience that can be applied to various careers.
Upon completion of internships, many interns have secured employment with The Women's Center, Inc.
Internships also look great on a resume!
To qualify for an internship with The Women's Center, Inc. students must meet the following criteria: ~ Attend an accredited college or university with a status of second semester sophomore or above. ~ Currently have, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. ~ Provide a copy of your resume. ~ Provide two letters of recommendation from professors in your specific academic department. ~ Complete The Women's Center agency training before or within the first week of starting the internship. ~ Have a genuine interest in helping others.
