What is Volunteer Training? Volunteer training is for individuals interested in becoming a Direct Service Volunteer. Direct Service means volunteers can interact directly with victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence. Direct Service Volunteers can help with a variety of TWC services like helping staff on our crisis hotline, providing shelter coverage, co-facilitating support groups for adults and children, and much more!
How long is volunteer training? Volunteer training is a nine-week course, which covers topics including, but not limited to, Domestic Violence Issues, Domestic Violence Issues with Children, Rape, Incest, Feminist Counseling, Empowerment Counseling, Teen/Dating Violence, Community Resources, Safety Planning, Medical Advocacy, and Role Plays.
Who can take volunteer training? Anyone who is interested in helping change the lives of victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence can participate in Volunteer Training. Volunteers that complete the Volunteer Training are potential candidates for internships at The Women's Center.
